Funeral services for Jeanette Bales Whiddon, of Greenwood, Louisiana, are Friday, April 14, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Bogue Chitto with burial at the church cemetery. Bro. Floyd Higgenbotham will officiate the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be today, Thursday, April 13, 2017, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and will continue Friday April 14, 2017, at 10 a.m. until time of services at the church.

Mrs. Whiddon, 58, died Monday, April 10, 2017, at her residence with her loving family by her side. She was born Jan. 23, 1959, in Brookhaven to Julius P. Bales and Leona Virginia Phipps Bales. She enjoyed cross- stitching and any needlework.  She was a loving wife and best friend for 41 years, a loving mother, grandmother and friend.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers, Walter Phipps and David Allen Bales.

She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Sammy Earl Whiddon Sr; daughter, Angela Kay Waldrop and husband Timothy; son, Sammy Earl Whiddon Jr. and wife Megan Sikes Whiddon; grandchildren, Jessica Denise Waldrop, Alexandra Lane Waldrop, Caitlyn Leala Whiddon, Avery Rosaleen Whiddon; and a host of family and friends.
