Funeral services for Dr. Robert Haynes Perry Sr., of Brookhaven, will be Monday, April 17, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Monday, April 17, 2017, from 1 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home.

Interment will be Tuesday,  April 18, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Greenville.

Dr. Perry died Friday, April 14, 2017. He was born Jan. 1, 1933, in Hattiesburg.

Dr. Perry graduated from Greenville High School and Clarke College in Newton. He attended New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and received his masters and Doctor of Theology degrees from Luther Rice Seminary, Jacksonville, Florida. He pastored many churches throughout the state, including Emmanuel Baptist, Greenville; New Palestine Baptist, Picayune; Hanging Moss Baptist, Jackson; First Baptist, Raleigh; First Baptist, Waynesboro; and Macedonia Baptist, Brookhaven.

Preceding him in death were his father, Rev. M. E. “Otis” Perry; mother, Edna Inez Perry; and brother, Col. (USAF) Matthew E. Perry.

Survivors are his wife of 63 years, Helen Warnock Perry; four children, Robert Haynes “Bobby” Perry Jr. (Stacey), Ann Butler (Miles), Lynn Garrett (Wendell) and Kay Holmes (David); and eight grandchildren, Brett and Blake Butler, Sam and Haley Garrett, Shelby and Haynes Perry, and Victoria and Emily Holmes.
