Funeral services for Lena Catherine Smith, of Brookhaven, are Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Riverwood Family Funeral Service in Brookhaven with burial at Riverwood Memorial Park.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 19, 2017, from noon until time of service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Smith, 89, died Sunday, April 16, 2017, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Brookhaven. She was born June 9, 1927, to Luther and Lula Rushing. She was retired as a directory assistant/operator for Michigan Bell Telephone Company.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Woodie Smith; father, Luther Rushing; mother, Lula Smith Rushing; brother, Decator Rushing, infant brother, William Henry and sister, Laurie Sisco.

Survivors are her sons, Charles Woodie Smith Jr. and wife Patty, Donald Smith and wife Ivy; daughter, Pamela Conn and husband Richard; brothers, Versie Rushing and wife Betty and Donald Rushing and wife Lee; sisters, Francis Mullins and husband Billy, Patsy Nations and husband Billy, Betty Jean Hughes, Diane Little; six grandchildren, Eli Ferguson and wife Amy, Jodi Neely and husband Gus, Tyler Smith and wife Lauren, Will Smith, Sara Smith and Jake Smith; and three great-grandchildren, Maci Ferguson, Caroline Neely and Noah Smith.
