Funeral services for Beatrice “Bea” Jordan Allen, of Brookhaven, will be Thursday, April 27, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Mt. Olive Church of Christ with burial in the church cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be today, April 26, 2017, from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, and Thursday, April 27, 2017, from 10 a.m. until time of services at the church.

Mrs. Allen, 79, died Monday, April 24, 2017, at her residence. She was born Aug. 7, 1937, to Leon Jordan and Lala Mae Stogner Jordan Boyd.

She was the owner of Allen’s Corner Grocery in the Enterprise Community where she served many people for many years. Mrs. Allen was a member of Mt. Olive Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David H. Allen; her parents; and one grandson, Greg Smith.

Survivors are her son, Joey Allen of Atlanta, Georgia; daughters, Wanda Smith and husband Probie, Tammy Flumm and husband Gary, and Vickie Lea, all of Brookhaven; six grandchildren, Shun White and wife Rena, Ben Smith and wife Mandi, Jordan Parker and husband Graham, Cassie Smith, Haley Langston and Shelby Flumm; and two great-grandchildren, Gavyn White and Addison Smith.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Berean Children’s Home, P.O. Box 1009, Brookhaven, MS 39602. Mrs. Bea had a passion for these children and ministry, and was able to donate the land on which the Berean Children’s Home is located.
