WESSON — The Copiah-Lincoln Community College Wolves finished the 2017 regular season with a breakout performance as NJCAA District D Champions. The dominating performance qualified the Wolves for the NJCAA DII National Golf Tournament at Longbow Golf Course in Mesa, Ariz. May 23-26.

“I think if we can get out there, relax, and think of it as just another tournament, then we can win the whole thing,” said Co-Lin head golf coach Ronny Ross.

The Wolves are coming off one of the programs best years as Co-Lin slated top-three finishes in all but one event. The team racked up three medalist honors on the year, and 13 All-Tournament Team honors through nine events.

“The depth of this team is as good as any team in the country,” said Ross. “Surprisingly, we haven’t played as well as I know we can all year.”

Co-Lin has bounced around the national polls all season and currently rank No. 4 in the nation after strong play late in the season.

“Our guys learned how to buy into course strategy late in the year… they also have focused on the mental part of the game and how much that can pay off,” said Ross.

The Wolves make the trip to the Grand Canyon State later this week in hopes of capturing Co-Lin’s first National Title.
