Funeral services for Mildred Mullins Smith were Monday, May 20, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Riverwood Family Funeral Services. Burial was at Riverwood Memorial Park. Visitation was held 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Smith, 100, died May 28, 2017, at her home with her loving family by her side. She was born Oct. 7, 1916, to Daniel Whitfield Mullins and Ollie Ezell Mullins.

Mrs. Smith was a retired self-employed accountant and a member of First Baptist Church of Brookhaven. She also was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and the Ladies Sewing Club of Brookhaven.

Preceding her in death was her husband of 35 years, J. Benjo Smith; parents, Daniel and Ollie Mullins; sisters, Louise, Leslie and Marjorie; and brothers, Edgar and Hugh.

Survivors are her daughter, Janet S. Richardson; three grandchildren, Chet Richardson and wife Sandra, Cheryl Richardson Estes and husband Brian and Christie Richardson Zavaglia and husband the late Scott Andrew Zavaglia. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, Chae Richardson and wife Nikki, Scoti Estes Daigle and husband Brandon, Sophie Smith Zavaglia and husband Haden, Ashlee Richarson Phillips and husband Brian, Mister Estes, Cai Richardson and Clayton Richarson; five great-great-grandchildren, Brady Richardson, Brooke Richardson, Colt Daigle, Scout Daigle and Morris Zavaglia Smith.
