Funeral services for Ronald “Ron” DeWayne Moak, of Ruth, are today, June 13, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Riverwood Family Funeral Service in Brookhaven with burial at Powell Cemetery.
Visitation was held Monday, June 12, 2017, from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Moak, 36, died Thursday, June 8, 2017, in Franklin County. He was born June 23, 1980, to Robert “Wayne” Moak and “Katie” Sue Givens Moak, of Bogue Chitto. He loved driving a log truck and made it his living. The piercing sounds of an air horn was like music to him as well as a source of amusement when he saw his unsuspecting wife pass by as he cleaned his truck on weekends. He especially enjoyed the comradery of logger buddies and the outpouring of love and support from them, during this time, would mean so very much to him as it has to us.
He was a drag racing enthusiast and could tell you anything about the mechanics to driving. He loved spending time with his wife and girls, who were the loves of his life. He also looked forward to the occasions of gathering with his family to enjoy fellowship and food. He was a fun loving person, who loved a good joke, whether telling it or pulling it, and his smile often gave way to the mischievousness hiding behind it.
Preceding him in death was his mother; brother, Clifford Moak; grandparents, Robert Moak and Juanita Sasser Moak and Marion Clifford Givens and Josie Nell Greer Givens.
Survivors are his wife, Erin Noll Moak; father and stepmother, Georgia; daughters, Leslie Moak, Chelie Moak and Mia Moak; brother, Jeff Moak; sisters, Karanita Brister and husband Dale, Malinda Rippy and husband Jason, and Carol Smith and husband James; six nieces; six nephews; two great-nieces; and one great-nephew.
