Funeral services for Dorothy Lee Diggs, of Brookhaven, are Friday, June 16, 2017, at 10 a.m. at St. James M.B. Church in Brookhaven with burial at Hillcrest Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 15, 2017, from 1 until 6 p.m. at Williams Mortuary in Brookhaven.

Mrs. Diggs, 91, died Sunday, June 11, 2017, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Brookhaven. She was born Feb. 22, 1926, to Mose Jacobs and Alberta Washington Jacobs. She was a Jackson State University graduate and a retired teacher for Brookhaven Public Schools.

Preceding her in death was her husband, James E. Diggs.

Survivors are her daughter, Frances Diggs Brown, of Tacoma, Washington; one grandson; son-in-law; and other nieces, nephews and relatives.
