ST. MARTIN (AP) — WLOX-TV reports 45-year-old Franky Lee Wingate, of Latimer, faces two counts of domestic violence by aggravated assault.

Investigators say Wingate and his wife were arguing, and Wingate pulled a knife to stop the woman from leaving. Capt. Randy Muffley says that’s when their 24-year-old son stepped in to defend his mother, and a scuffle ensued.

Ezell says Wingate stabbed his son in the back. Wingate was also injured in the fight. Wingate and his son were both taken to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
