Graveside service for Julia Middleton Furr, of Brookhaven, is Monday, July 10, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson. Bro. Willie Welch will officiate the service. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Furr, 88, died Tuesday, July 4, 2017, at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina, with her loving family by her side. She was born Aug. 21, 1928, in Roxie, to Stanton and Julia Jones Middleton. She worked for 42 years as a medical technologist. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Brookhaven for many years and in 2010 became a member of the First Baptist Church of Eden in North Carolina. She enjoyed playing cards with her circle of friends, crocheting, church trips, baking and most of all, devotion to God, family and friends. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother and friend.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Stanton and Julia Jones Middleton; husband, Troy Furr; brother, S.L. Middleton; and sister, Edith Middleton Anderson.

Survivors are her sisters, Geneva M. Keys and Naomi M. Powers; daughters, Lynn Jones and Rita Hart; grandsons, Brian Hart  (Kelly), Matthew Jones (Addie) and Marc Jones; great-grandsons, Trevor Jones and Jim Hart; and a host of family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be made to Fisher Center for Alzheimer’s Research Foundation, 110 E 42nd St. 16th Floor, New York, NY 10017.
