Man charged with traveling to meet teen for sex
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) — A Mississippi man is accused of traveling to Alabama to have sex with a teenager.
The Tuscaloosa News reports 33-year-old Matthew Ryan Buckalew agreed to meet a woman and her teenage niece at a Best Western on Saturday. Court records show Buckalew was arrested by a Tuscaloosa police officer, who posed as the teenager.
Police say Buckalew had setup to pay the woman $130 to spend 30 minutes with them. Buckalew told police that he arranged the meeting.
Buckalew is charged with traveling to meet a child for sex acts, a felony. He was released from the Tuscaloosa County Jail on a $60,000 bond.
