Funeral services for Johnny L. Lofton, of Brookhaven, are today, Aug. 8, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) with burial at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery in Brookhaven. Bro. Lonnie Case and Bro. Jeff Davis will officiate the services.
Visitation was held Monday, Aug. 7, 2017, from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home and will continue today, Aug. 8, 2017, from 10 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
Mr. Lofton, 60, died Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017, at his residence with his loving family by his side. He was born Aug. 22, 1956, to Loyd H. and Jo Helen Hicks Lofton. He was of the Baptist faith. He worked for many years as a crane operator and enjoyed fishing and cutting his grass. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.
Preceding him in death were his father; sisters, Carolyn Ann Henderson Halford and Brenda Faye Henderson; brother, Loyd H. Lofton Jr.; and step-sons, Scott Carey Smith and Christopher Lynn Smith.
Survivors are his wife of 29 years, Myra Case Lofton; brother, Gerald W. Lofton of Smithdale; sister, Debbie K. Lofton Case of Brookhaven; grandchildren, Justin Scott Smith and wife Raini of Brookhaven, and Christopher Blake Smith and fiancé Christian of Brookhaven; great-grandchildren, Slade Scott Smith and Christopher Tripp Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Pallbearers are Gerald Lofton, Dewey Lofton, Blake Smith, Darren Case, Roger Lofton, Jason Lofton, Justin Smith and Jimmy King.
