Visitation for Dean Alan Pope, of Brookhaven, will be today, Aug. 29, 2017, from 5 until 8 p.m. at Riverwood Family Funeral Service in Brookhaven. There will be no service or interment.

Mr. Pope, 49, died Friday, Aug. 26, 2017, at his residence. He was born Aug. 28, 1967. He was a member of Moak’s Creek Baptist Church. He loved music, motorcycles, bike riding and family get-togethers.

He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Pope; maternal grandparents, E.J. “Pop” Lavergne and Cecile Lavergne; and paternal grandparents, Grover and Geraldine Pope.

Survivors are his mother, Dot Lavergne Michiels and stepfather, J.J. Michiels; son, Dylan Pope; daughter, Hannah Pope; brothers, Jimmy, Jason and Damon Michiels; aunts, Shirley Richard, Linda Fontenot, and Chris Duhon; and uncle, David Duhon.
