PEARL (AP) — A former high school basketball coach in a Mississippi suburb has been arrested on felony cyberstalking charges.

Pearl police arrested Jacob Neil DeVaughn last month.

Police tell local media that DeVaughn and the victim had been dating and when the victim decided to end the relationship, DeVaughn became angry and began sending threatening and harassing emails and text messages during the month of September.

The Pearl school district says that DeVaughn no longer works for Pearl High School, where he was the girls’ basketball coach before his arrest.

DeVaughn is free on $25,000 bail. The Rankin County district attorney is now handling the charges. It’s unclear if DeVaughn has a lawyer to speak for him.
