A McComb man was killed when his pickup truck collided with a Peterbilt truck in Pike County Monday night.
Thomas L. Travis, 82, was pronounced dead at the scene by Pike County Coroner Percy Pittman, said Cpl. Brandon Fortenberry of the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred about 9:34 p.m. at the intersection of Hwy. 24 and Hwy. 48.
Travis was driving a 1998 Dodge pickup truck, headed west on Hwy. 48. The pickup was hit on the left front by a 1993 Peterbilt truck in the eastbound lane of Hwy. 24 where it intersects with Hwy. 48, Fortenberry said.
The Peterbuilt was driven by James Thames, 48, of Jayess.
The Peterbilt came to rest on the westbound shoulder of Hwy. 24 facing northeast.
Christie Hammack, 46, of McComb, a passenger in the Dodge truck, was taken to Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center with moderate injuries, and was transferred to University of Mississippi Medical Center, Fortenberry said.
The crash remains under investigation by MHP.
