OXFORD (AP) — A federal jury in Mississippi has convicted two people for transporting a woman across state lines to engage in prostitution.

U.S. Attorney William C. Lamar and FBI Special Agent in Charge Christopher Freeze said Wednesday that after a two-day trial, jurors convicted Mario D. Collins, of Memphis, Tennessee, and Paulette M. Clayton, of Atlanta, of trafficking the victim from Georgia to Tennessee and ultimately to Oxford for commercial sex purposes.

No sentencing date has been set. Each faces up to 10 years in prison.

Evidence established that Oxford Police responded to a motel on April 27 after receiving a 911 call indicating that the victim was being held against her will. Collins and Clayton were arrested in the parking lot and the victim was recovered from inside the hotel.
