Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Jean Moak, of Summit, are Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2017, at 11 a.m. at McCall Creek Church of God, with burial in the church cemetery. Hartman Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2017, from 9 a.m. until time of service at the church.

Mrs. Moak, 86, died Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017, at Aston Court Retirement Community. She was born Feb. 6, 1931, in Quentin to Percy and Leona Terrell Smith.

She attended Southwest Mississippi Community College where she played basketball. She and her husband were owners of Mid City Paint and Supply. Mrs. Moak was also a very active member of McComb Church of God. She was a retired school teacher and taught at Carter Creek School and Johnston Station Schools.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and her husband, Carlton Rainey Moak.

Survivors are her sons, Jason Moak and wife LaTonia of Summit, and Carlton Lynn Moak of Summit; sister, Joyce S. Griffin and husband Willard of Monticello; two grandchildren, Rainey and Greenlie Moak; and numerous nieces, nephewes and other relatives.

Pallbearers will be Kent Nations, Rainey Moak, Mike Moak, Joey Moak, Justin Moak and Mearle Moak.

The family wishes to say a special thank you to the staff at Aston Court for all of the special attention and care that they gave Mrs. Moak and also like to thank Hospice Compassus.
