Funeral services Elnor Rae Knotts Reid, of Jackson, formerly of Brookhaven, are Friday, Dec. 29, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Harrigill Funeral Home in Brookhaven with burial at Easthaven Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday, Dec. 29, 2017, from 9 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Reid, 92, died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2017, at her home in Jackson. She was born April 14, 1925, in Woodville. She graduated from Meadville High School and completed beauty school in Jackson. She was a life-long beautician, first in New Orleans, Louisiana, and later in Brookhaven. She and George Dewey Reid married in Brookhaven, on Sept. 8, 1953. She retired in 1997 and moved to Jackson. She lived with her daughter, Diana Reid Carpenter, and Diana’s family.

She was a member of Wellman Baptist Church in Bogue Chitto.

Preceding her in death were her husband, George Dewey Reid, of Brookhaven; parents, W.P. and Hattie Smith Knotts, of Meadville; sister, Louise Knotts White, and husband, Shelby White, of Brookhaven; sister-in-law, Mary Reid Hemphill; and brothers-in-law, Rev. Wiley Reid and George Capozzi.

Survivors are her daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Scott Carpenter, of Jackson; grandson, Patrick Carpenter, of Nashville, Tennessee; sisters-in-law, Billie Reid Capozzi, Katie Reid and Sarah Reid Berthelson and husband George; brother–in-law, Don Hemphill and a host of nieces and nephews.
