Funeral services for John “Jack” Jackson Hutcherson, of Monticello, Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018, at 2 p.m. at Riverwood Family Funeral Service in Brookhaven with burial at Fair River Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be today, Jan. 12, 2018, from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Hutcherson, 66, died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. He was born Dec. 3, 1951, to the late R.B. Hutcherson Jr. and Ida Ree Terrell Hutcherson. He was a chief engineer for the U.S. Merchant Marines for 21 years. He was a member of Fair River Baptist Church and was a motorcycle and antique car enthusiast. He enjoyed gardening and working with his hands.

Survivors are his son, John Hutcherson II; daughter, Ginger Young; brothers, Eugene Hutcherson and wife Sharon, of Rock Spring, Georgia, Bruce Hutcherson and wife Paula, of Sontag; sisters, Ina Neill, of El Dorado, Arkansas, Winnie Boyles, and Patsy Carr and husband, Randy, all of Monticello; three grandchildren, Jeremy Young, Lilly Young and Liam Young; and a host of friends, nieces and nephews.
