Mrs. Yvonne, as she was known to her friends and Granny Yvonne to her family, loved the Lord and always praised Him for the gift he gave her of playing the piano by ear. She loved music of almost every kind, with a special love of gospel and hymns, and served as the pianist for East Lincoln Baptist Church and Union Baptist Church. She had a wonderful ear for singing and sang alto harmony in her church choir and in duet with her daughter, Dianne. She always loved traveling to beautiful scenic places like the Rocky Mountains and the Great Smoky Mountains, and had a great interest in history, both local and worldwide. After the Lord and her family, whom she treasured, her greatest enjoyment was her home. She always worked hard to keep her house and enjoyed every minute that she could be outdoors with her flowers and the birds, deer and rabbits that visited her yard. Two of her best companions in her later years were her dogs, Rascal and Trouble. She kept all of her family close to her heart and loved them all with pride.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Delois Thames; brother, Doyle Thames; husband, Paul Wooten; and her former husband, Wadie Townsend.

Survivors are her daughters, Dianne Altman and husband Steve, of Brookhaven, and Linda Wooten, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; grandsons, Kyle (Susann), Kelly (Nikki) and Kory (Aileen) Altman; three great-grandchildren, Madisyn, Korben and Ava Altman; and dear friend, Macky Dunaway.

The family of Mrs. Yvonne would like to extend a special thank you to her family, friends and Dr. Braxter Irby, Dr. Reid Cotten and Dr. Justin Baker who gave their support and encouragement during her passing.
