Funeral services for Jessie Earl Givens Sr., of Brookhaven, are Monday, Jan. 15, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Landmark United Pentecostal Church in McCall Creek with burial at Union Baptist Church Cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Service in Brookhaven is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018, from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. He will lie in state Monday, Jan. 15, 2018, from 10 a.m. until time of service on at the church.

Mr. Givens, 72, died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2018. He was born Nov. 28, 1945, and served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was the owner of Star Drive In and a member of the Landmark United Pentecostal Church and enjoyed helping and feeding others, and loved church activities and spending time with family.

Preceding him in death was his father, Cliff Givens.

Survivors are his wife, June Givens; mother, Helen Shaheen; stepmother, Vedia Givens; son, Rev. Jessie Givens Jr. and wife Tiffanye; daughter, Missy Freeman and husband Mark; sisters, Hilda Ray Floyd, Linda Oliver and husband, Earl, Carolyn Richardson and husband Bobby, Darlene Allen and husband Delynn, and Lisa Givens; three grandchildren, Amanda Jordan, Meagan White and Steven Bessonette; and great-grandchildren, Austin Jordan, Tucker Jordan and Chezley White.
