Brookhaven Fire Department responds to smoke scare, potential gas leak; area reports
The Brookhaven Fire Department responded to a smoke scare at 12:40 p.m. Thursday on Kramer Lane. No injuries were reported. They also responded to a potential gas leak at 6:33 p.m. Thursday on Cedar Street.

The Wesson Police Department investigated a case of possession of a controlled substance Thursday.

King’s Daughters Medical Center Ambulance Service reported 15 calls Thursday. Four were transfers, with two to Jackson, one in the county and one in the city.
