Carney claims ‘typical’ buck

Photo submitted/They say, “if at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.” For The Daily Leader’s Kristi Carney, it’s more like this — “if you kill a strange-looking alien of a deer, go back and shoot something typical.” So she did. After shooting some poor buck with a weird rack earlier this season, Carney scored this more presentable fellow early one morning after catching him on the trail cam at daybreak twice in a row. She went out on day three and sat in the sunrise with her Browning .30-06 and felled the deer just before 7 a.m.
