Funeral services for Judah Marshall Powell, of Tupelo, are today, Jan. 30, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Dustin George and Rev. Ricky Young officiating. Pegues Funeral Home in Tupelo is in charge of arrangements.

Graveside services will be Thursday, Feb. 1, 2018, at 1 p.m. at West Millers Cove Cemetery in Walland, Tennessee.

Judah, 3, died Friday, Jan. 26, 2018. He was born July 10, 2014, in Brookhaven, to Rev. Matthew Marshall and Andrea Nicole Raley Powell. He attended church with his family at First Baptist Church. He loved his church and Jesus. While “Dog-Dog” was his favorite buddy, he adored superheroes especially Superman and Batman though Davy Crockett was his favorite hero. When he wasn’t playing superheroes or with his Legos, he enjoyed music and loved singing along. He had so much love for his sisters and often told them “Don’t worry, I’m going to take care of you because boys take care of girls.”

Survivors include his parents; three sisters, Ashlyn, Addelyn Kate and Ainsley Powell; maternal grandparents, Michael and Debbie Raley, of Barton; paternal grandparents Marshall David and Sandy Powell, of Maryville, Tennessee; great-grandparents, Juanita Raley, of Barton, Marshall and Velda Powell, of Walland, Tennessee, and Shirley Ledbetter, of Walland,Tennessee; aunts and uncles, Robert Watson and his wife, Angela, of Marion, Arkansas, Travis Carpenter and his wife, Alissa, of Lamar, and Cary Penrose and his wife, Amanda, of Knightdale, North Carolina, Kathryn Fri and her husband, David, of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Emily Powell, of Louisville, Kentucky; great-aunts and great-uncles, Kevin Phillips and his wife, Melanie, of Southaven, Roger Walker and his wife, Donna, of Walland, Tennessee, Barry Ledbetter of Walland, Jane Chambers and her husband, Randy, of Walland, Tennessee, and Amy Higdon and her husband, Brad, also of Walland, Tennessee.

Pallbearers will be Chandler White, Kevin Phillips, Dalton Phillips, and Roger Walker.
