Memorial services with full military honors for Walter Leroy Williamson, of Spring Valley, California, were held Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2018, at Miramar National Cemetery, in San Diego, California.
Mr. Williamson, 79, died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018, after a short illness. He was born April 3, 1938, in Brookhaven, to Walter Lee and Sylvia Williamson. He joined the US Navy and served his country on active duty for 20 years and subsequently worked for the US Navy for an additional 27 years before retiring. He was a graduate of Enterprise High School.
Preceding him in death were his parents; sister, Diane Greer and husband, Stanley Ray Greer; brother-in-law, Harold Moak; and nephew, Tony McDavid.
Survivors are his wife of 45 years, Mitsuko Williamson, of Spring Valley, California; sons, Robin Williamson and Eddie Williamson (Sylvia), of San Diego, California; sisters, Louise Moak, of Ferriday, Louisiana, Betty McDavid (Lafayette), of Brookhaven, and Judy McCullough (James), of Wesson; brothers, Nolan Williamson (Karen), of Bogue Chitto, James Frank Williamson (Wyleene), of Magnolia; and a host of nieces and nephews.
