Funeral services for Richard Joe Gibson, of Bogue Chitto, will be Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018, at 2 p.m. with interment at Riverwood Memorial Park.

Visitation will be Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018, from 4 until 8 p.m. at Riverwood Family Funeral Service.

Mr. Richard Joe Gibson, 90, of Bogue Chitto, died Feb. 4, 2018, at his residence. He was born Dec. 24, 1927, in Nola. He was a technical sergeant with the United States Air Force and a member of the VFW. His hobbies included music, singing and woodworking.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Tera Gibson; and his sisters, Polly Williams, M.L. Day and Dorothy Gibson.

Survivors are his wife, Aletha Gibson; sons, Phil Gibson, Larry Gibson, Marcel Gibson and Greg Biagi; daughters, Linda Garrard and Penny Benge; brothers, Lloyd Gibson, Carl Gibson, Shelton Gibson and David Gibson; sisters, Bonnie Dunnaway, Doris Foster, Carolyn Boose and Virgina Hearn; 14 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
