Funeral services for Hazel Louise Lofton, of Brookhaven, are Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, at 1 p.m. at Ramah Baptist Church in McCall Creek with burial at the church cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Service in Brookhaven is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 9, 2018, from 5 until 9 p.m. at the church and will continue Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. Bro. Rick Cook, Bro. Lonnie Case and Bro. Glynn Hilton will officiate the service.
Mrs. Lofton, 77, died Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018. She was born April 15, 1940, to E.J. and Frances Smith Kimble in Enigma, Georgia. She was a dedicated member of Ramah Baptist Church and was very active in the Vacation Bible School program. She was known as “Nanny” to many. She was also a Sunday school teacher and enjoyed serving the Lord in any way she could. She was a sweet and caring lady who will be missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerry Lofton; son, James Lofton; brothers, Ernest and Robert Kimble; sister, Juanita Autry and husband Ray; brothers-in-law, Joe D. Lofton and Gordon “Mutt” Lofton; and sisters-in-law, Peggy Davis and Julia Mae Ratcliff.
Survivors are her son, Glenn Lofton, of McCall Creek; brother, Vernon Kimble; sisters, Barbara Kimble and Shirley Oliver; brother-in-law, Thomas E. Lofton; sisters-in-law, Marie Hilton, Eva Allen and Geraldine Lofton; and numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.
