JACKSON (AP) — The Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics says a man accused of distributing heroin and meth that led to drug overdoses in the Jackson area has been arrested for the second time in as many weeks.

Bureau Director John Dowdy tells WJTV-TV that 59-year-old Kelvin Roy “Hot” Thompson was arrested Monday and is charged with conspiracy to sell heroin. Dowdy says the Jackson man had returned to his drug-trafficking operation after Hinds County authorities released him on $5,000 bond within days of his initial arrest.

Last week, agents charged Thompson after seizing roughly 40 grams of suspected methamphetamine and approximately 4 grams of suspected heroin.

Dowdy says 32-year-old Rebecca L. Vanhuizen and 38-year-old Shanti R. Nelson also face drug charges in the ongoing investigation.

It is unclear if those charged have lawyers.
