Funeral services for Barney Dale Hill, of Franklin County, will be today, Feb. 20, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Providence Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation was held Monday, Feb. 19, 2018 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the church and will continue today, Feb. 20, 2018 from 9 a.m. until time of service at the church.  also at Providence Baptist Church and will resume prior to the service starting at 9:00am.

Mr. Hill, 67, died Friday, Feb. 16, 2018. He was born July 27, 1950 to Joel Miles “J.M.” Hill Jr. and Jewell Keen Hill.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved more than anything spending time with his family. He enjoyed being a “Poppa” to his grandchildren and watching them in any activities they participated in. He was an avid supporter of Dixie Youth Baseball and Brookhaven Academy. Mr. Hill was a lifelong member of Providence Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, church secretary and on the cemetery, building and grounds, and baptismal committees. He played an active role in the food pantry at the Baptist Association. He loved hunting and fishing and the opportunities it gave him to be with family and friends. Mr. Hill was also retired from Seales Farm where he worked for 34 years.

Preceding him in death were his parents; granddaughter, Ramsey Kaye Hill, and father-in-law, Ramsey Smith.

Survivors are his wife of 45 years, Deborah Faye Smith Hill; sons, Mark Dale Hill and wife, Dana, and Stanley Miles Hill and wife. Allan; daughter, Angie Hill Kent and husband, Chris; brothers, Rickey Hill and wife, Debra Ann; sister, Elizabeth Jane “Liz” Brown and husband, Winston; grandchildren, Summer Hill, Emma Claire Hill, Zachary Kent, Jacob Barnett Kent, Isabella Hill, Wyatt Kent, John Dale Hill and Krislyn; mother-in-law, Dorothy Smith; brothers and sisters-in-law, Sandra and Richard Hambach, Pam and Donald Case and Donnie and Teresa Smith; and numerous nieces, nephews and close friends.
