Truck, cars meet fiery end on I-55 N
A driver hauling seven vehicles from Kenner, Louisiana, north on I-55 Thursday was alerted by a passing motorist that something was wrong behind him. Lincoln County Emergency Management Director Clifford Galey said the driver stopped on the shoulder of the road at the 44 mile marker and discovered his rear passenger side tire was on fire. The fire consumed six of the cars before firefighters from New Sight and Heucks Retreat VFDs arrived. The incident remains under investigation by Mississippi Highway Patrol.
