Gunshot victim discovered in Brookhaven

Brookhaven police are investigating a possible homicide of a teenager that occurred Tuesday morning.
Police Chief Kenneth Collins said his department received a call about 4 a.m. about a car that had struck a telephone pole on Grenn Street near Star Drive In. When officers arrived, they discovered the driver appeared to be shot and started a homicide investigation.
The victim is about 19 years old, he said. Police are withholding his identification pending notification of his family.
Collins believes the victim was shot in another location. He’s encouraging the public to come forward with information in the case that would assist the police with the investigation.
