A memorial service for Verna Posey Richardson, of Brookhaven, will be held at a later date.

Ms. Richardson, 91, died March 29, 2018, at Haven Hall Nursing Home. She was born Feb. 11, 1927, to John and Effie Posey. She was a member of Brookway Baptist Church and was retired from J.C. Penney.

Preceding her in death were her parents; son, Alan Wayne Richardson; sisters, Pauline Case and Velma Smith; and brother, Hubert Posey.

Survivors are her sons, Ret. Lt. Col. Charles L. Richardson and Bruce D. Richardson and wife Brenda; daughter, Sandra Hoolahan and husband Louis; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and special daughters-in-law, Debbie Richardson and Julie Gravallese.
