Louisiana parent arrested for allegedly pulling gun on another parent in school pickup line
SLIDELL, La. — A Slidell man was arrested Thursday afternoon after he allegedly pulled out a gun to threaten another parent at a local elementary school pickup line.
NOLA.com reports Tyronne Causey, 32, was arrested by the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office after the incident Thursday.
In a press release, the sheriff’s office reported Causey became upset with another motorist while waiting in the school pickup line shortly before 4 p.m. He allegedly withdrew his weapon and threatened the other parent, the release said. The dispute was allegedly triggered by one motorist being cut off by another in the car line.
The Slidell school was briefly placed on lockdown as a safety precaution, the sheriff’s office said.
Causey was booked at the parish jail in Covington, La., on charges of aggravated assault with a firearm and possession of a firearm in a gun-free zone.
