Funeral services for Betty Johnson Carr, of McComb, are today, May 4, 2018, at noon at Hartman-Jones Funeral Home in McComb with burial at Hollywood Cemetery. Dr. David Millican and Deacon George Carr will officiate the services.

Visitation will be today, May 4, 2018, from 10 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Carr, 87, died Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at Aston Court in McComb. She was born May 9, 1930, in McComb, to Earl and Verta Lee Johnson. She and her husband, Joe Carr, owned and operated Liberty Dry Cleaners for many years. She loved to read and to sing with the Sweet Spirit Singers of the Liberty Baptist Church where she was a member. In her later years, she was a member of Central Baptist Church, McComb.

She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Michael Carr; and one sister, Billye J. Bowman.

She is survived by four daughters, Jo Ann Young and husband, Oliver, of McComb, Janet Morgan and husband, Clifton, of Brookhaven, Jeannine Wood and husband, Bruce, of Brandon and Kim Carr, of Brookhaven; one sister, Sylvia J. Goldberg, of McComb; 11 grandchildren, Will Loftin, Dana Spring, Joseph Young, Carr Young, Kelly Quin, Traci Everett, Chad Carr, Bradford Carr, Zachary Carr, Justin Wood and Ryan Wood; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Mark Goldberg, Carr Young, Zachary Carr, Will Loftin, Chad Carr, Russell Spring, Joseph Young and Bradford Carr.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, the Gideon’s or Central Baptist Church, McComb.

The family would like to thank the staff of Aston Court and Hospice Compassus for the care that they gave Mrs. Carr.
