JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Attorneys for the family of a woman who was shot and killed by police in Mississippi have filed a petition in federal court seeking to force the department to provide the names of the officers involved.

The petition that was filed Monday, and reports the Jackson Police Department has not named the officers in the Jan. 27 shooting of 21-year-old Crystalline Barnes.

The petition says attorneys Carlos Moore and Jason Downs made a public records request to the city in April for any information pertaining to Barnes’ death. Moore and Downs say police provided a one-page report to their request without the involved officers’ names.
