Funeral services for Kenneth Richard Calcote, of Starkville, are Saturday, June 2, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Riverwood Family Funeral Service in Brookhaven with burial at Calcote Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday, June 1, 2018, from 5 until 8 p.m.

Mr. Calcote, 41, died Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at his residence in Starkville. He was born Aug. 18, 1976, in McComb, to Dennis and Brenda Calcote. He graduated from Franklin High School in Meadville in 1994. He received an associates degree from Hinds Community College in Raymond, and a bachelor of science in agronomy from Mississippi State University in Starkville.

He was employed with the State of Mississippi Department of Agriculture and commerce Bureau of Plant Industry for 19 years. He was the Division Director, Plant Pest Division. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Brookhaven.

He is preceded in death by his father, William Dennis Calcote; grandfathers, William Richard Calcote and Clyde Jones Sr.; grandmother, Mildred Jones; grandfather, Russell Stubbs; niece, Layla Grace Calcote; and uncle, Roy Smith.

Survivors are his mother, Brenda Jones Calcote, of Brookhaven; brothers, William Paul Calcote and wife, Angie, of Brookhaven, Daniel Robert Calcote, of Wiggins; grandmother, Mary Stubbs, of McComb; aunts and uncles, Douglas Calcote and wife, Becky, of Brookhaven, Lucille Smith, of Natchez, Christine Perry and husband, Lester of West Lincoln, Clyde Jones Jr. and wife, Ann, of Brookhaven; two nephews, Waylon and Austin; and numerous cousins, family and friends.
