Charles ‘Charlie’ Israel Abrams

A memorial service for Charles “Charlie” Israel Abrams, of Atlanta, Georgia, will be Saturday, July 14, 2018, at 4 p.m. at Paul W. Bryant Museum in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Alabama apparel is encouraged.

Mr. Abrams, 74, died Monday, July 9, 2018, in Atlanta, Georgia. He was born March 11,1944, in Brookhaven. He spent his childhood playing baseball and helping his family who ran Abrams Mercantile Store in downtown Brookhaven. He was forever proud of achieving the Eagle Scout badge. A lifelong Alabama fan, he graduated from the University of Alabama in 1966 with a business degree. It was there he forged lifelong friendships that continued throughout his life. Following graduation, he worked for Merrill Lynch in New York and then Los Angeles. He spent his career as a financial advisor for a variety of firms in Brookhaven and Mobile, Alabama, where he ultimately married the love of his life, Puddin. He had an infectious smile and never met a stranger. He befriended everyone he met. He was an avid reader and history buff. He enjoyed watching westerns and loved spending time with family and friends, often watching his beloved Crimson Tide.

He was preceded in death by parents, Clifford and Wilma Abrams, of Brookhaven.

Survivors are his wife of 30 years: Puddin Abrams, of Woodstock, Georgia; sister, Sylvia Talley (Doug), of Marietta, Georgia; five children, Joshua (Sabrina Thomas) Abrams, of Asheville, North Carolina, Stephan (Laura) Abrams, of Jackson, Wyoming, Abby (Travis) Couick, of Woodstock, Georgia, Tracy (Jennifer) Woollen, of Woodstock, Georgia, and Amanda (Ben Dorfman) Abrams, of Atlanta, Georgia; and grandchildren Luke; Gabby, Stella and Taylor; Louis and William, Colin and Wyatt.
