Bass
No current reports on bass. Topwater lures early in the morning or late in the evening should be productive. Fishing with soft plastics around the edges of weeds could also produce some strikes.
Bream
No current reports on bream. Try fishing with worms and crickets in shallow water around structure.
Crappie
No recent reports on crappie. Try fishing the fish attractors in deeper water with different colored jigs.
Catfish
No current reports on catfish. Try the creek channel near the bridge and around the island with livers or cutbait.
Calling Panther Lake
Boat lanes have been cut to allow for easier access to different parts of the lake, but be aware that idle speed is required in these areas. Channels are marked with red/green markers for main channels and gold markers for side channels.
Bass
Bass fishing has been good. Some big fish have been caught on crankbaits. Large soft plastics are working well on schooling bass.
Try fishing 10-12 feet deep with soft plastics when you aren’t seeing any schooling fish. Topwater lures along the dam early and late in the day may also be productive.
Bream
Bream fishing has been pretty good recently. Some nice redear sunfish have been caught, as well as some healthy bluegill. Fishing with crickets, worms, and even small minnows on the bottom have produced good results.
Crappie
Crappie fishing has been good recently on minnows in 8 to 12 feet of water. If you use a variety of different colored jigs at different depths you should have success harvesting these fish.
Catfish
The catfish bite is good right now and Calling Panther has a very healthy catfish population. Try cutbait or chicken livers on the bottom.

Bream fishing has been good; try crickets and worms in 3-6 feet of water and around structure.
Crappie
Regulations: 20 fish daily creel limit, no size restriction.
No current reports available; small minnows and jigs fished around the willows should produce some fish.
Catfish
Regulations: 10 fish daily creel limit, no size restriction.
Currently there are no reports on catfish, but Lake Tangipahoa has some big blue cats. Try chicken livers or nightcrawlers on the bottom. Look to fish deep pockets where fish may nestled away.
