TUPELO, Miss. (AP) — A Mississippi man is charged with kidnapping and several misdemeanors after allegedly taking a woman from a city park and then causing several wrecks.
News outlets report 52-year-old Milton Rogers was taken into custody Monday in Tupelo. It was not immediately clear whether he has an attorney.
Deputy Chief Allan Gilbert says police received a call that a woman was being kidnapped Monday evening in Ballard Park by a man in an older white car.
The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal reports the car’s driver caused wrecks along Main Street in Tupelo.
A witness, Reco Colebrooke, was working at a post office. He said that a white car sped through the parking lot and hit multiple vehicles, including his.
Rogers was captured and the woman was hospitalized.
