Funeral services for Bonnie Black Terrell, of Salisbury, North Carolina, will be Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2018 at 2:15 p.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) with Rev. Ken Clapp, chaplain of Catawba College of Salisbury, North Carolina, officiating. Burial will be at Rosehill Cemetery. Arrangements are by Summersett Funeral Home in Salisbury, North Carolina.

Visitation will be Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2018 from 1-2 p.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home.

Mrs. Terrell will be moved from the Summersett Funeral Home to Brookhaven Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Salisbury.

Mrs. Terrell died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2018, at her home. She was born May 11, 1931, in Barbourville, Kentucky, to the late Della Mae Wilson Black and Henry C. Black.

She was educated in Barbourville and graduated from Barbourville High School and received a music scholarship to attend Whitworth College in Brookhaven.

Mrs. Terrell was a homemaker and a devoted church soloist.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Dr. Junius Hewitt Terrell (June 27, 2005), her son, Dana Hewitt Terrell (Dec. 30, 1955); sisters Mary Ellen Black Cobb, Lillian Black Simpson and Jewell Black Elam; and brother, Chatrles Samuel Black.

Survivors are a daughter, Rebecca Perry and husband, Anthony, of Lilburn, Georgia; and grandson, Anthony Keoni Perry II of Jacksonville, Florida.
