A service to celebrate the life of Elizabeth “Penny” Smith Hart, of Bogue Chitto, will Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018, be 1:30 p.m. at Riverwood Family Funeral Service with burial at Bogue Chitto Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday, Sept. 7, 2018, from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home and will continue Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018, from 12:30 until time of services.

Mrs. Hart, 90, died Sept. 5, 2018, at McComb Nursing & Rehab. She was born Aug. 25, 1928, to the late Marshall Smith and Charity Elizabeth Smith.

She was retired as a telephone operator and was a longtime member of Bogue Chitto Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother and Christian. She loved her family, friends and neighbors.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Bill Hart; parents; daughter, Ann Delaughter and son, Billy John Hart.

Survivors are her sons, Charles Hart and wife Dolores, Tom Hart and wife Rebecca, Ken Hart and wife Vicki, and Gene Hart; son-in-law, Mike Delaughter; daughter, Kathy Crosby and husband Bruce; sisters, Brenda Montgomery and Geraldine Etheridge; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Hospice Ministries for the wonderful care given in the past months. We would like to extend a special thank you to Angela Edwards and Kathy Sutton for going above and beyond the required duties of Hospice Ministries.
