Man’s burglary charges reduced, dismissed; dispositions

Dispositions

Lincoln County Circuit Court dispositions for Aug. 2 were:

• Steven J. Reed’s charges of felony possession of 48 doses of amphetamine and misdemeanor possession of 3.5 doses of buprenorphine and 18 doses of clonazepam that were filed April 3, 2010, were ordered remanded to file Aug. 2 by Circuit Judge David Strong.

• Steven James Reed’s charge of burglary with forcible entry at Bane’s Drugs filed July 2, 2010, was reduced to misdemeanor trespassing and Reed pleaded guilty Aug. 2. He was sentenced by Judge David Strong to six months in Lincoln County Jail which was suspended and two years of probation. He is ordered to pay court cost of $260.75, a $500 fine and restitution in the amount of $559.27 to Bane Drugs.  A second charge of burglary with forcible entry at Judy’s Discount Shoes filed July 2, 2010, was dismissed.

• Phillip C. Smith pleaded guilty Aug. 2, 2018, to a charge of burglary of Southern Pawn filed July 1, 2016. He was sentenced by Judge David Strong to five years in custody of the Mississippi of Department of Corrections, a fine of $2,500, restitution to Southern Pawn $655 and court cost of $419.50.

• Jonathan Q. Brown’s charge of selling of at least two but less than 10 grams of methamphetamine within 1,500 feet of a church, filed Aug. 25, 2017, was dismissed by Judge David Strong Aug. 2, 2018.
