Mr. Greer, 62, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2018, at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson with his wife holding one hand and his mother holding his other. His death was unexpected, resulting from a stroke on Monday. He was an honest, hardworking man who loved to fish. Over the years, he became very skilled at painting vehicles and was able to earn a living this way. There were many who would not have work done by anyone else. Although he was always a kind, generous, good-natured man, he came to know the Lord late in life with the encouragement and example of his wife, Tammy. She was the great love of his life and it is her great comfort to know Billy is with Jesus now.
Survivors are his wife of 40 years, Tammy Brister Greer; mother, Eddie Ruth Maier; son, Bill Moak; grandchildren, Chelsea and Harley Moak; siblings, David Greer (Diane), Margie Staggs (JR), Ricky Greer (Janet), Michael (Mickey) Maier (Jolynn), Viola McCullough, and Paul Maier; along with numerous brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews.
