Doris Marie Blackwell, 78, died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2018, of natural causes at her home in Lumberton, Texas. She was born Nov. 22, 1939, in Stanley, Virginia, to John Glendon McCoy and Rachel Cubbage McCoy.

Preceding her in death were her parents; son Glynn Blackwell Jr., of Monticello; daughter, Shari Blackwell, of Monticello; and one granddaughter.

Survivors are her husband, Glynn Blackwell, of Lumberton, Texas; son, Rodney Blackwell and wife, Debra, of Monticello; daughter, Shelia Soileau and husband, Shannon, of Lumberton, Texas; son, John Blackwell and wife, Jackie, of Cypress, Texas; siblings, John McCoy and wife, Sandra, of Stanley, Virginia, Peggy Wimer and husband, Howard, of White Post, Virginia, Maxine Bennet and husband, Lindy, of Jeffersontown, Virginia, and Ruby Morrison and husband, Lyle of Bentonville, Virginia; five grandsons; and seven granddaughters.
