Arthur Dennis Fauver Sr., 83, of Slidell, Louisiana, died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018. He was born Oct. 18, 1934.

He was not a man of many words, but when he spoke, his voice demanded attention. His booming laugh was one that would carry through a room and become instantly contagious and his sparkling blue eyes always seemed to hold just a bit of mischief. He believed in earning what you had and was a hardworking man himself.

Starting from humble beginnings in Brookhaven, he moved to Slidell as a young man working as a welder at the shipyards eventually working for Boeing as a welder during the Apollo program. He retired from Lockheed Martin (shuttle program) in 1996 as a proud and active UAW member. He built a life, a family and a lasting legacy on love, honesty and faith, and the importance of a handshake. He will be deeply missed by those he left behind, but was joyously greeted in heaven by those who proceeded him in passing.
