Funeral services for Pauline Stringer Vaughan, of Brookhaven, are Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018, at 10 a.m. at Friendship Baptist Church in Brookhaven with burial at the church cemetery. Bro. Chad Yarborough will officiate the services. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be today, Oct. 12, 2018, from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Vaughan, 102, died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2018, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Brookhaven with her loving family by her side. She was born Sept. 26, 1916, in Bude, to Sebren and Margery McCoy Stringer. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher. She was a retired book mobile librarian from the Lincoln County Public Library. She enjoyed reading, traveling, cooking and spending time with her family. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and friend.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Ingram Vaughan; son, Thomas Ingram Vaughn; sisters, Thelma Stringer, Rachael “Dolly” Stringer and Charlene Stringer; brothers, Walter Stringer and James Dale Stringer; grandson, John Talmadge Paxton Jr.; great-grandchildren, Nealey Blair Brown and Angel Paxton; and grandson-in-law, Shawn Brown.

Survivors are her daughter, Paula Vaughan Paxton and husband, John, of Houston, Texas; son, John E. Vaughan and wife, Vicki, of Vicksburg; daughter-in-law, Vicki Vaughn, of Carriere; grandchildren, Jason Vaughn and wife, Karla, Heather Vaughan Brown, Veronica Vaughn McNew and husband, Trigg, Graham Vaughan, Jessica Vaughan Clark and husband, Josh and Rhonda Paxton Dahn; six great- grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Pallbearers are Jason Vaughn, Graham Vaughan, Payton Brown, Josh Clark, Trigg McNew, Lane O’Brien and Will Paxton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mrs. Vaughan’s name may be made to Friendship Baptist Church Building Fund or Cemetery Fund, 1502 Friendship Lane NW, Brookhaven, MS 39601.
