Funeral services for Betty Jean Smith Sutton, of Brookhaven, are Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Riverwood Family Funeral Service in Brookhaven with burial at Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be today, Oct. 19, 2018, 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home and will continue Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018, from 9 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Sutton, 87, died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2018. She was born Aug. 31, 1931, to Buster Smith and Ruby Nettles Smith. She absolutely loved being with her family along with cooking, quilting, crocheting and sewing. She was also a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Albert “Peanut” Sutton; parents; son, Gordon Sutton; grandson Richard Sutton; and sister Carolyn Smith.

Survivors are her daughter, Deborah Sutton Smith and husband, Claude; sister, Peggy Smith, of Natchez; four grandchildren, Christie Smith Case and husband, Keith, Kim Smith Coley and husband, Shane, Nisa Sutton, Shawn Sutton and wife, Kristine; eight great-grandchildren, Blake Wilson and wife, Lauren, Karci Case, Madisyn King, Atleigh Anding, Brooklynn Coley, Avery Fischer, Jameson Sutton and Harrison Sutton; and two great-great-grandchildren, Brice Wilson and Lizzie Grace Wilson.

The family would also like to share a special thank you to Mrs. Sutton’s caregivers, Judy Boyd, Emma Smith and Geraldine Smith and Complete Hospice Care.
