Cougars go down in Florence

The Lawrence County Cougars (7-5) saw their season end at the hands of the Florence Eagles (5-7) on Friday night in Rankin County as the home team held on for a 38-35 win.

The Cougars trailed by ten late and were able to score and recover an onside kick. However, a pass to the end zone on the final play was fruitless as the Eagles held on for the win.

Despite the loss the first season for head coach Jesse Anderson was a success as the junior-heavy Cougars are expected to be strong again in 2019.
