A body found Tuesday east of Bogue Chitto has been sent to the state medical examiner for identification.

Lincoln County Chief Deputy Johnny Hall said deputies received a tip there was a body possibly located off Bogue Chitto Road.

Deputies canvassed the area and discovered a body about noon Tuesday in an area more than 500 feet off Bogue Chitto Road and just east of Pricedale Road.

Deputy Coroner Ricky Alford said the body appears to be a white male in his early 30s. The cause of death and DNA identification will be determined by the Mississippi Crime Lab.

“Hopefully, in the next day or so we’ll know something,” Hall said.
