Funeral services for Marvin H Sandifer Jr., of Brookhaven, are Sunday, Dec. 9, 2018, at 3 p.m. at Holly Springs Baptist Church with burial at the church cemetery. Riverwood Family in Brookhaven is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018, from 5 until 9 p.m. at Riverwood Family. He will lie in state Sunday, Dec. 9, 2018, from 2 p.m. until time of service at the church.

Mr. Sandifer, 83, died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018, at his residence. He was born Nov. 20, 1935, to Marvin H. Sandifer Sr. and Mary Inez Sandifer. He was retired from the United States Air Force where he served during the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church where he served as deacon and he was also a Gideon.

Preceding him in death are his parents; wife, Betty F. Sandifer; brother, Tommy Sandifer; sisters, Carol Sandifer Rider and Shirley Sandifer King; great-grandson, Cody Price; and great-granddaughter, Bryaunna Hardin.

Survivors are his son, Marvin T. Sandifer and wife, Terry; daughters, Athena Kyzar and husband David, Belinda Sandifer and Donnie Locklear; brother, Richard N. Sandifer; 13 grandchildren; 25 great- grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; special granddaughter, McKenzie Ratcliff; Caroline and Gary Allen.
